  • What You'll Need to Get In

    To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

    • Australian Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) Health field, AND
    • Must be working in a role as a registered practitioner with AHPRA with no restrictions to practice [Eligible professions are: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner, Chinese Medicine, Chiropractor, Dental Practitioner, Medical Practitioner, Medication Radiation, Occupational Therapist, Optometrist, Osteopath, Paramedic, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist, Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife], OR
    • Working as a professional where mental health skills are being utilised and membership of a professional association is current [Eligible professions are: Social Work and Counselling], OR
    • Working as a professional where they can demonstrate mental health skills are being utilised [Applicants in these eligible professions MUST be currently working in a role where mental health skills are being regularly applied as a core component of the role - in a health-related field]

    Note: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

    Eligible students can apply for the Australian government's FEE-HELP loan to assist with your fees.

    You may be eligible to receive FEE-HELP for this course!

    This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

    Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $48,361 (2022-23 income year).
