The CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations is delivered by Five Bridges in partnership with Look Now Training, across Redland Bay and Mitchelton. This five-week program is designed to give participants the practical skills and foundational knowledge needed to enter the security industry with confidence. It is delivered through industry-led, hands-on instruction that bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.

Throughout the course, participants develop competency across a range of core areas, including security operations fundamentals, professional communication, conflict resolution, managing intoxicated persons, defensive techniques, protecting persons and property, and emergency evacuation procedures. Participants also complete eight employability units drawn from the Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways framework, though this program does not award the full Certificate II qualification. Five Bridges also covers the cost of a police check, first aid, CPR, and the security licence application as part of the program.

What You'll Need to Get In

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Be a permanent resident of Queensland
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with appropriate visas and work permits on a pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen
  • Must be able to pass a National Police Check, including fingerprinting.

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations from Asset Training in partnership with Five Bridges and Look Now Training (RTO 31827).

This course prepares students to pursue entry-level roles in the security industry. Graduates may work as security guards, crowd controllers, mobile patrol officers, airport security team members, or close protection bodyguards. The course covers practical skills in security operations, conflict resolution, emergency evacuation procedures, and the safe removal of persons from premises. Five Bridges covers the cost of a police check, first aid, CPR, and the security licence application as part of the program.
