The Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition, offered by Endeavour College of Natural Health, is an accredited Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 8 higher education qualification designed for health professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in clinical nutrition. The course responds to the growing demand for practitioners who can deliver evidence-based, culturally responsive nutrition care across a range of health settings. It is well suited to those who already hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and wish to build or formalise their clinical nutrition skills, including those transitioning from allied or complementary health disciplines.
The curriculum spans two semesters and covers broad learning areas including nutrition science and metabolism, diet and chronic disease management, lifespan nutrition, dietary assessment and analysis, and advanced case-based clinical reasoning. A distinctive feature of the course is its supervised clinical practicum component, where students work directly with clients at one of Endeavour’s six campus clinics located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast, and Perth, or at an approved external clinic. Online subjects are delivered asynchronously, offering flexibility for those balancing study with professional or personal commitments. Part-time study is available, with online coursework requiring approximately eight hours per week, alongside scheduled clinic attendance.
Throughout the course, students develop skills in evidence-based practice, professional communication, digital literacy, behaviour change counselling, and culturally safe care, including an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health perspectives. Graduates may be eligible to apply for membership with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS). The qualification can open pathways into roles across community health, government health departments, private consultancy, corporate wellness, health advocacy, and research or education settings.
