The CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, delivered by Monarch Institute, is a nationally recognised qualification for students looking to start a career in early childhood education and care. Available to students in Victoria, this course provides an entry pathway into the childcare sector and helps learners build the skills needed to support children’s learning, development, health and wellbeing.

Students learn how to create safe, inclusive and engaging early learning environments while developing knowledge in child development, play-based learning, health and safety, inclusion, communication, and workplace practice. The course is delivered mainly online, giving students the flexibility to study at their own pace while completing the practical requirements of the qualification.

As part of the course, students complete 17 units of competency and 200 hours of mandatory work placement in a regulated early childhood education and care service. Students also have access to Little.ly Early Learning Centre, a simulated early learning environment designed to help them build confidence before entering the workplace.

Graduates may pursue entry-level roles in early childhood education and care, such as Early Childhood Educator, Family Day Care Educator, or Outside School Hours Care Educator. What You'll Need to Get In

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

Be at least 17 years of age
Complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy (LLN) and Digital Literacy (DL) assessment before enrolment
Have access to the internet and a device capable of recording video
Have a reasonable level of physical fitness to undertake practical workplace tasks in an early childhood education and care setting

Before commencing work placement, students must also obtain and maintain, at their own expense:

A valid Working with Children Check, or equivalent state-based clearance
Any required vaccinations and immunisations
Relevant workplace or regulatory clearances
