What will I do?

What skills do I need?

Nurse Practitioners need both clinical and people skills to do their job well. On the clinical side, they must assess patients, order and read diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications safely. They need a solid grasp of pharmacology, anatomy, and nursing standards. Strong critical thinking helps them make fast, sound decisions under pressure.

People skills are just as important. NPs explain complex health information clearly to patients and families. They work closely with doctors, allied health staff, and support workers.
