Graduates will be equipped to pursue careers in data scientist and analyst positions within variety of industries across the wider business and research spheres. Graduates may also choose to articulate into a higher degree, such as the Diploma of Data Science or Master of Data Science.
Data Scientists can fill many different roles within various businesses, depending on their specialisation and the needs of their organisation. Potential roles for trained Data Scientists include: Data Scientist (generalist), Data Engineer, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, Machine Learning Scientist, Statistician, Enterprise Architect and similar.
Eligible students can apply for the Australian government's FEE-HELP loan to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees.
James Cook University also offers an upfront payment option.
This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $48,361 (2022-23 income year).
