In light of the restrictions imposed on the hospitality industry by the coronavirus, it is important for businesses in Victoria to take proactive measures to maintain a safe environment for their employees and customers. To help businesses achieve this, Serve It Up is now offering a short, accredited training course called the BSBSS00095 Cross-Sector Infection Control Skill Set.
The course is designed to teach hospitality staff how to identify and manage the ongoing risk of coronavirus infections through a combination of online and workplace-based learning. Specifically, the course covers the unit BSBWHS332x Apply infection prevention and control procedures to own work activities, and is tailored to meet the needs of Victorian employers and workers in businesses where COVID-safe practices are crucial.
The course involves self-paced online learning and assessment using the online Canvas learner management system. After completing the online assessment, learners can book a 2-hour practical skills class at the Serve It Up campus, or it can be done in your workplace. The assessments include online questions, case studies, oral questions, and observations of skills. It is recommended that learners allocate 20 hours to self-paced learning. The course can be completed within 3 months of enrollment.
This course is government funded through Victoria's Skills First Funding initiative and eligible students can have their fees covered by the program. Please enquire to see if you qualify.
