Serve It Up's Barista Coffee Job Ready four-day course will teach students essential skills in the art of coffee making and customer service such as how to use the coffee machine & grinder, how to make a range of espresso coffees, how to do latte art and how to use point of sale (POS) equipment. This course will ensure that you can competently start working as a barista in any cafe or coffee shop.
This is a dual Skill Set and covers SITSS00080 – Espresso Machine Operation and BSBSS00095 – Cross-Sector Infection Control Skill Set.

Crucially, each course incorporates the critical hospitality certification BSBSS00095 – Cross-Sector Infection Control Skill Set.
Plus, you have the opportunity to augment your qualification with an optional Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, this is an addition 5 hour class. These industry-recognised courses equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to excel in Melbourne's vibrant hospitality scene, enhancing your potential for securing positions in premier cafes, restaurants, and bars.
This course is government funded through Victoria's Skills First Funding and eligible students can have their fees covered by the program. Please enquire to see if you qualify. Enrolling in this program will count towards your 2 funded skill set entitlements for the year.
You will need access to a computer and meet the entry level AQF 2 Language literacy and numeracy requirements.

On completion of this Barista Coffee Job Ready qualification from Serve It Up you will have all the skills you need to successfully engage with any coffee making or barista role available in one of Melbourne's stylish cafes and coffee shops.
