    The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113) from Nepean Industry Edge Training (NIET) is a great first step to take towards a career in early childhood education. The course will help you acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills of working with young children in early childhood settings. 

    This qualification covers topics including children's health and safety, learning frameworks, working with babies, and more. Put your classroom knowledge into action with 160 hours of practical placement. 

    Through a fun, dynamic, flexible and supportive learning environment, you will develop the confidence you need to succeed and embark a rewarding career.

    The course can be completed by attending classes at NIET's Frankston campus (two days per week over 49 weeks), or flexible delivery (self-paced, approximately 5 hours per week over 12-18 months).

    Government funding available: this course is subsidised through Victorian Government's Skills First program, and eligible students can have a large portion of their fees covered through the program. Please enquire to see if you qualify.

  • What You'll Need to Get In

    There are no formal prerequisites to study this course at NIET but there are some requirements you should know about:

    • You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident currently residing in Victoria;
    • If you're doing this course part-time, you must commit to at least 8 hours of study per week;
    • If you're doing this course full-time, you must commit to at least 16 hours of study per week;
    • This course does not require a computer and is not conducted online.
