    This course will provide you with all the contemporary skills and knowledge you need to become a qualified early childhood carer and educator and will enable you to work in any early childhood care service nationally.

    You will master essential skills such as how to develop positive and respectful relationships with children, how to support children's health, safety and well-being, how to support the holistic learning and development of children and how to provide experiences to support children's play and learning, as well as practical skills required when educating young children such as how to meet legal and ethical obligations in children's education and care, and how to follow basic food safety practices.

    Aside from the theoretical part of the course, you will be required to undertake 160 hours of supervised work placement in a regulated child education service that caters to children aged between 0-6 which will ensure that on completion of the qualification you will be able to hit the ground running in one of many early childhood education roles available nationally.

  • What You'll Need to Get In

    To be eligible to enrol in this course you should:

    • Be at least 16 years of age. If you are under 18 your enrolment form will need to be signed by a parent or guardian.
    • Have completed year 12 or achieved an Exit Level 3 or above score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in Reading and Numeracy, which will show that they have the capability to be successful in the course.
    • Be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy to meet the duty of care obligations, be able to complete practical tasks required throughout the course and be able to competently perform in roles involving working with children.
    • Be able to complete and pass a Working with Children Check/Police Clearance in the state or territory that they are working in prior to commencing child-related work (this includes work placement).

    While studying for the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification from Collaboration Learning, you will be expected to complete fifteen core units and two elective units from the following list:
