Work placement is not required, however it's recommended you can access a relevant workplace to meet some assessment requirements. If you aren't working in a related role, simulation options may be available.

    This course requires entrants to hold either:

    • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), OR
    • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) , OR
    • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability PLUS the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.
  • What You'll Need to Get In

    This course requires entrants to hold either:

    • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), OR
    • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) , OR
    • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability PLUS the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.

    If you hold any of the three example qualifications above, you may proceed to apply for entry into this course.

    If you hold a variation of any of the above, you may only need to do a few unit assessments in order to gain entry to the Certificate IV course.

    If you have relevant experience but do not hold any of the listed qualifications for entry, Phillips Institute recommends a training and assessment or recognition of prior learning (RPL) pathway. Phillips Institute's customised Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) CHC33021-CHC43121 Entry Program is designed particularly to meet the needs of current and recent experienced aged care and disability support workers who are looking to enrol into the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support.  

    The following is required from all students:

    • Be a minimum of 18 years old;
    • Fluent in speaking, writing and reading English language;
    • Basic numeracy skills required;
    • Ability to read and interpret a range of information;
    • Beginner to intermediate computer and internet skills.
