    The CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) has been designed to meet the needs of people who are pursuing builders' registration or looking for supervising or contract administration roles. This course is for Victorian residents, is Nationally Recognised and satisfies the educational requirements of the VBA for builder registration.

    Government Funding available for eligible students.

    This course delivered in a virtual environment - interactive online, classroom style (using Microsoft Teams). BCTA ensures that the training is delivered to the standards of a real workplace environment. In weekly class, your trainer will facilitate a range of training experiences including:

    • Trainer led instruction
    • Discussion and debate
    • Group learning activities
    • Case studies
    • Role plays & presentations

    You will be trained by best trainers in the industry with extensive experience giving you detailed insight into the skills and knowledge required to pursue a successful career in Building and Construction industry. 

    This program runs for 74 weeks You need to set aside 13 hours per week for self-study and 7 hours for assessment work. 

    Students will need to complete 27 units. You'll be assessed through a range of assessment methods including workbook learning activities, written assignments, case studies, Questions & Answers, role play, presentations and projects.

    Given the holistic nature of this program in both the delivery and assessment, it is important to note that you can only enter the program at the scheduled commencement, or at the commencement of a new unit.

    This course is covered by Victorian government's Skills First funding program, and eligible students can have up to 100% of their tuition fees covered. Enquire to see if you qualify.

  • What You'll Need to Get In

    To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

    • Must be aged 18 or above
    • To assist prospective students to determine if the course is suitable and appropriate for their individual needs, a Pre-Training Review (PTR) will be conducted.
    • Successful completion of BCTA's Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test

    Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment process that assesses the individual's relevant prior learning to determine the credit outcomes of an individual application for credit. BCTA will ensure that your prior learning and existing skills are recognised, irrespective of how or where they have been acquired.

    Please note - this course is available to Australian citizens, Permanent Residents or New Zealand passport holders. It is NOT available for Subclass 500 visa holders. If you have previously completed a Diploma or higher-level qualification, you are NOT eligible for Victorian Government funding.

    • CPCCBC5001 - Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Type B construction
    • CPCCBC5002 - Monitor costing systems on complex building and construction projects 
    • CPCCBC5003 - Supervise the planning of on-site building and construction work 
    • CPCCBC5005 - Select and manage building and construction contractors
    • CPCCBC5007 - Administer the legal obligations of a building and construction contractor 
    • CPCCBC50018 - Apply structural principles to the construction of buildings up to three storeys
