    Are you ready to be your own boss and do what you love as a qualified personal trainer? The Complete Personal Training Course from Australian Institute of Personal Trainers (AIPT) consists of the SIS30321 Certificate III and SIS40221 Certificate IV in Fitness, plus access to the BSB50120 Diploma of Business course!

    This exciting course combines a series of foundational fitness units and a Certificate IV in Fitness with a Diploma of Business to give you the knowledge, skills and business know-how you need to succeed as a personal trainer. In the first part of the course, you'll cover the basics of providing instruction and guidance for fitness and exercise.

    You'll learn how to incorporate the principles of exercise science and healthy eating into fitness programming for clients, and how to work with a variety of different clients to achieve their fitness goals. Throughout the Diploma part of the course, you'll move on to the business side of launching a personal training business, developing essential skills for successful small business planning and operations.

    This course is designed to be as flexible as possible. You'll have up to 24 months to complete the entire course and for the practical components, there are 3 delivery modes to choose from:

    • Campus Club - learn in a small group environment inside one of Australia's leading gyms and be mentored by the best in the business
    • 1-To-1 Flexible Mentor - you'll be matched with one of AIPT's qualified Personal Trainers who will mentor you inside a real club
    • Mentor of Your Choice - if you already know a Personal Trainer, AIPT could approve them to be your Mentor to guide you through the practical components of the course.

    In all three modes, you'll complete theory components online in your own time. And no matter which delivery option you choose, you'll be guaranteed high-quality course materials and training to help you launch your personal trainer career with a bang!

  • What You'll Need to Get In

    To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

    • Be at least 16. If under 18, you need have the signed consent of a parent or guardian to enrol in this qualification; AND
    • Hold a qualification at Certificate II level or higher; OR
    • Have 2 years of industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication; AND
    • Hold a current "Working with Children Check Clearance" in the State or Territory in which you will undertake this course.

    Computer Requirements

    In order to complete the online part of the course you will need regular access to the following:

    • Computer: Laptop or desktop computer with working speakers or headphone points
    • Internet
    • Windows: Operating system – Windows 8 or above
    • Internet Browser – Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer 11
    • MAC: Operating system - OS X 10.14 Mojave or later
    • Software: Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word (or Open Office which is free to download)

    Before starting the SIS40221 Certificate IV in Fitness, students must complete and be deemed competent these subjects, which are available as part of the SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness. 

    • HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid* (or a unit that supersedes this unit)

    * This course contains the unit HLTAID011 Provide First Aid which must be completed through an external RTO. AIPT has an agreement in place with Red Cross Australia (RTOID 3605) which allows students to receive training for this unit at a reduced price or you may source your own training provider. Please note that the cost of this external training is not included in your course fee. Upon completion, you will need to submit a copy of your First Aid certificate for AIPT to process a Credit Transfer against this unit of competency on your student record.
