Throughout this comprehensive course, you'll develop your professional competencies and get prepared to work within a complex, uncertain and contested social work practice environment. You'll also undertake two 14-week social work field placements to gain vital hands-on experience.
Offered both online and on-campus at ECU South West (Bunbury), this degree is specifically designed to prepare students to meet the national Practice Standards for Social Workers. After four years of full-time study (or eight years part-time), you'll graduate ready to make a difference in the world as a professional social worker.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Bachelor of Social Work from Edith Cowan University.
Graduates are eligible to apply for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and pursue careers in a range of professional social work settings.
Students who have achieved a Weighted Average Mark of 70% or higher in the first five semesters may be invited to complete further study in the form of a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours).

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $55,874 (2017-18 income year).
