In this course, you'll learn how to implement clinical exercise, healthy lifestyle programs and wellness interventions for people living with chronic conditions and injuries. You'll cover fitness and training, nutrition, injury, rehabilitation, biochemistry, and growth and development. You'll understand just how our bodies work and function, and develop ways to improve movement and treat injury through rehabilitation.

This science degree will enable you to become a sports science and clinical exercise expert and prepare you for job opportunities in both clinical and professional settings.

    To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

    • ATAR of 80; OR
    • Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma; OR
    • Experienced Based Entry (where accepted); OR
    • Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT); OR
    • Aboriginal Student Intake Test; OR
    • University Preparation Course; OR
    • Indigenous University Orientation Course; AND
    • All applicants are required to be assessed for entry by the course coordinator where the student has undertaken prior tertiary study. Students with no prior tertiary study will be assessed by University Admissions; AND
    • Clearances and/or Risk Management Protocols Required.

Upon completion of this course you'll receive a Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) from Edith Cowan University.

With your new qualification, you'll be eligible to register with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA). If you wish to further your studies, you'll be eligible to complete Bachelor of Science (Sports Science) Honours, Master of Nutrition and Dietetics, and Master of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning).

HECS-HELP

You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $55,874 (2017-18 income year).
