Pathology Assistant | Pathology Collector
This course meets the Nationally Recognised Training standards. It is listed on the Australian government's National Register for Vocational Education and Training (VET). Studying this course leads to a qualification that's recognised throughout Australia, and lets employers know that you have the right skills for the job.
The Certificate III in Pathology Collection (HLT37215) gives graduates the skills and knowledge to work in all areas across pathology collection, for example private sector, hospitals and doctors clinics.
The units address the areas of Customer Service, Pathology Collection Techniques, Phlebotomy (blood collection), Infection Control, Work Health and Safety, Medical Terminology, Visiting clients in their place of residence and Electrocardiography (ECG).
This course has a blended delivery mode (ie. classroom and online learning), in either the day or evening.
Practical Placement
The course includes 35 hours of mandatory practical placement in Industry, which All Health Training organise and must be completed in one block, being Monday to Friday, which will be completed at the end of the course as students must have done at least 20 “successful” live bleeds before placement can be commenced. Placement may take between 1 - 3 months to coordinate with industry.
Some students may be eligible for Victorian Government funding through the Skills First Funding program, the Eligibility Exemption and Job Trainer.
