In a Nutshell

Through this course, you'll be able to span both the legal and scientific worlds. The Law component of this double degree will teach you how to analyse legal material, understand fundamental legal principles, understand the relationship between law and society, and gain general analytical skills for critical thinking and problem-solving. Gain real-world experience and have the opportunity to undertake projects for organisations that have limited resources. By studying at their Parramatta or Campbelltown campus, you'll have access to WSU's extensive law library, computer-based law research lab and state-of-the-art moot courts.

The Bachelor of Science allows you to design your own program which includes a Science major such as Zoology, Animal Science, Forensic Biology, Data Science, Chemistry or more.

    To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Assumed Knowledge: Students should have at least two-unit English, and two-unit Science (any science) and two-unit Mathematics at year 12 equivalent; AND
    • Recommended studies: HSC English standard or equivalent

    Please note, students enrolling in these units may need to have a National Police Certificate and consent or prohibited employment declarations as they may be conducting their placement in circumstances where they work with minors

Upon successful completion, you'll receive a Bachelor of Science & Bachelor of Laws from Western Sydney University

Graduates from the Bachelor of Laws are eligible to apply to the Legal Profession Admission Board for admission to legal practice in NSW after undertaking prescribed practical legal training.

The Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) is accredited by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) for normal entry of a graduate to the Chartered Chemist qualification.

Eligible students can apply for the Australian government's HECS-HELP loan to cover all or part of your fees.

You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $45,881 (2019-20 income year).
