In a Nutshell

This online Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (ICT60115) course is the ideal program for ICT professionals keen to qualify for more senior management positions. Offered by Upskilled, who is a program member of the Microsoft IT Academy, the course takes a blended learning approach to give students the technical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to succeed in senior ICT roles.

The program has also been structured to allow students to build upon their current management skills, as well as to tailor electives to their individual career needs. It incorporates a blend of vendor specific, vendor neutral and Upskilled workshops to ensure your training encompasses the full breadth of knowledge required of any effective ICT practitioner.

Four core training categories are covered, including core infrastructure, continuity and security, continuous improvement, and service delivery and governance. The core infrastructure training cluster is ideal for system administrators, and covers both server and workstation platforms. Some of the concepts that you can expect to delve into include storage technologies, network access protection, server security, network protocols and basic backup and restore principles. These outcomes are particularly relevant to platforms like Microsoft, Novell, Linux and UNIX. Under the continuity and security subject stream, you'll learn how to ensure business systems are set up properly, available for staff and running smoothly.

The skills learnt in this cluster are broad and transferrable across systems like files and print servers. The systems continuous improvement module focuses on giving you the skills to offer solutions and alternatives to business managers to improve productivity in the workplace. Finally, the service delivery and governance cluster covers ITIL and industry best practices when it comes to IT service management. You'll learn how to interact effectively with clients, ensure consistency of support and solve incidents and problems that commonly arise in the workplace.

"So much better than TAFE and very good instructors that actually care. With all of the IT technical training it was very well done."

Angus Blackburn , Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology

"I wanted to say a big thank you to Upskilled for its wonderful support during my study. It was a pleasure to do a course through such a professional organisation, and I will be recommending the course to my friends. Again, many thanks!"

"My initial reason for attending was to have my experience recognised with a certificate. However, as I settled into the course, I found that I embraced new ideas and concepts, and with each unit found a renewed enthusiasm and confidence to make changes to processes I currently use in my work. I thank Upskilled for being so informative and helpful throughout this course. I have found the Upskilled trainers to be down to earth and professional. I know I have grown and contributed to the running of the course, which I recommend to anyone currently working in the field."

"I recently completed a Certificate IV course in Frontline Management at the Crowne Plaza, Terrigal. Our trainer was Don who, from the outset, made all participants feel very relaxed and comfortable, setting the tone for the days that followed. This was quite an achievement given the diversity of backgrounds and occupations in attendance. Don obviously has a lot of relevant life experience, making him the perfect person to deliver this kind of training. His real world examples were delivered with confidence and humour and were always in sync with unit material, which ensured we remained on track."

Stephen Wilkinson , Certificate IV in Leadership and Management (previously known as Certificate IV in Frontline Management)

"Upskilled offered a prompt, friendly and efficient service. My increased knowledge of human resources has provided me with a greater understanding and awareness of the many functions within HR and an increased confidence in my current role. The facilitator was fantastic, very motivating and encouraging. The course attendees came from a diverse range of companies and disciplines including legal, IT, recruitment, and retail. It was interesting to share our experiences of how HR functions are carried out by different industries."
