This exciting double course combines a series of foundational fitness units and a Certificate IV in Fitness with a Diploma of Business to give you the knowledge, skills and business know-how you need to succeed as a personal trainer. In the first part of the course, you'll cover the basics of providing instruction and guidance for fitness and exercise. You'll learn how to incorporate the principles of exercise science and healthy eating into fitness programming for clients, and how to work with a variety of different clients to achieve their fitness goals. Throughout the Diploma part of the course, you'll move on to the business side of launching a personal training business, developing essential skills for successful small business planning and operations.

This course is designed to be as flexible as possible. You'll have up to 24 months to complete both parts of the course in the delivery mode of your choosing. The Student Selected Mentor option allows you to choose your own mentor to guide you through 40 hours of practical training, while the AIPT Mentor option provides you with a qualified personal trainer for face-to-face practical sessions; alternatively, Face-to-Face On-Campus mode will see you studying on-campus in a real gym. In all three modes, you'll complete theory components online in your own time. And no matter which delivery option you choose, you'll be guaranteed high-quality course materials and training to help you launch your personal trainer career with a bang!

Please note: this course is currently in a transition period (superseded due to Government-mandated updates), with updates due for release in the coming year. Rest assured, completion of this course version before 10 May 2023 will still provide you with a valid and quality outcome. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to make an enquiry.

"The day that I got the email to say I had passed my course, Sean Weir Fitness was advertising for a new personal trainer. I applied for the job and had an interview the next day. I now instruct five boot camps and two box fit classes a week and I have many personal training clients. I am currently employed by Sean Weir Fitness and am looking to start my Diploma of Fitness with the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers. I am so happy to be doing a job that I love and look forward to going to work everyday."
