    To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

    • Have completed secondary education within the previous two years and hold a sufficient ATAR rank for this qualification; OR
    • Have studied a higher education course since leaving secondary education, either recently or some time ago; OR
    • Have completed a bridging or enabling course delivered by or on behalf of a higher education provider; OR
    • Have completed or enrolled in but not completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma course since leaving secondary school; OR
    • Have professional or work experience that can demonstrate your readiness for higher education.

    Applicants are also required to submit a personal statement.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) from Edith Cowan University. 

This qualification is accredited by the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia and fulfils the academic study requirement for registration as a secondary school teacher in Western Australia. After completing this course, you'll be able to apply to work as a teacher in secondary schools across the state.

Fees may be paid upfront, or deferred for eligible students through the Australian government's HECS-HELP loan program.  


You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $55,874 (2017-18 income year).
