    To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

    Academic requirements: 

    • Hold an ATAR of 70; OR
    • Have undertaken a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) qualification at the appropriate level; OR
    • Have previously studied at University level; OR
    • Hold a STAT result that meets ECU requirements; OR
    • Have completed a bridging or enabling course delivered by a higher education provider; AND
    • Submit a 500-word personal statement outlining why you wish to become a teacher; AND
    • Meet English Competency requirements (see below).

    English competency:

    • Students must attain an Academic IELTS with an overall band minimum score of 7.5 (no individual band less than 7.0); OR
    • For equivalent language test requirements refer to ECU English Standards Policy. 

    Please note that School Leaver applicants will require completion of WACE or equivalent.

This qualification is accredited by the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia and fulfils the academic study requirement for registration as a teacher in Western Australia. HECS-HELP

You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $55,874 (2017-18 income year).
