Are you a recent graduate ready to expand your knowledge and skills in specialised areas of design? Or perhaps you're an experienced designer seeking a practical skills upgrade or extended design theory knowledge? Whatever your aspirations, the Master of Design from Edith Cowan University is the ideal postgraduate course for those who aim to excel in the design industry.
Throughout this coursework degree, you'll learn about cross-disciplinary design strategies and gain insight into the current role of design in our society. As well as completing core units on design theory, visual communication and project methodology, you'll complete a major project combining contemporary studio-based practice and theory with rigorous critical analysis.
Graduating after 1.5 years of full-time on-campus study (or 3 years part-time), you'll have the advanced skills and knowledge you need to take on complex social, organisational, economical and sustainable challenges through expert design.

Graduates are equipped with the trans-disciplinary design skills needed for higher-level roles in a range of industries, including interior/spatial, graphic, social and digital design.

Students may pay for this course upfront or apply for a government FEE-HELP loan to cover all or part of their fees (eligibility criteria applies).
Scholarships and ECU Student Loans are also available to eligible students.
This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $55,874 (2017-18 income year).
