Dental assistants play a key role in the dental health care industry. They assist dentists and other oral health professionals in the delivery of dental care and procedures. As well as undertaking assistance duties, dental assistants undertake infection control measures and provide general support in the dental health environment. As a dental assistant, you may work in a general or specialist dentistry practice, or a public or hospital-based dental clinic. Dental assistant courses equip students with well-rounded skillsets, including practical and technical skills as well as aspects of communication, administration, and workplace health and safety.
