About VIC Government Funded Courses
TAFEs and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) authorised by the government offer funded courses in Victoria (VIC). The government covers the course fee, but additional expenses such as facilities, services, textbooks, and study materials may apply. The funding goes directly to the provider and any course fees are determined by the provider.
Government funding in Victoria spans a variety of vocational training qualifications, including certificate III and certificate IV, advanced diplomas. Accredited short courses (skill sets for targeted upskilling) and pre-apprenticeship pathway courses (certificate II) also receive subsidies.

Eligible students can undertake subsidised courses online or on-campus. Not all education providers or courses receive subsidies, with some being fee-for-service, where full payment must be made by you or your employer.
Funding programs generally require you to be a Victorian resident and be one of the following: Australian citizen; or an Australian permanent resident; or a New Zealand citizen; and/or an eligible visa holder.
