Gain broad-based business skills such as communication and marketing fundamentals and customer experience management, as well as specialist culinary training in everything you need to devise and create masterpiece dishes – from kitchen operations and cookery through to menu design.

Practical workplace experience

This course offers you the chance to take your learning out of the classroom and into the workplace. All students must complete a compulsory internship of at least 800 hours in an approved workplace environment.

In order to succeed in your studies, each subject in this course requires a minimum of 10 study hours per week.

    • Have successfully completed Year 12, or equivalent; OR
    • Possess documented, broadly relevant work experience; OR
    • Have completed or partially completed formal or informal study; OR
    • Present a written submission demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success

    All students are also required to demonstrate sufficient competency in English.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Eligible students can apply for the Australian government's FEE-HELP loan to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees.

Torrens also offers a number of scholarships to successful applicants, including the Vice Chancellor Scholarship and the Regional/Remote Access and Indigenous Access Scholarship.

You may be eligible to receive FEE-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
