About this course

Are you a qualified nurse keen to pursue a career in nursing education or leadership and management? La Trobe University's Master of Nursing Science could be the course you're looking for.

Delivered entirely online for maximum flexibility, this degree allows you to study with a leader in nursing education and develop comprehensive nursing research knowledge and key skills in leadership or education, including critical thinking, problem solving and effective communication in an ethically oriented professional practice. You'll learn to make high-level independent judgments, plan and implement practice in specialty contexts and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

With its flexible structure, this qualification is designed to fit in alongside your existing commitments. You can complete the full degree in 20 months, choose from three different exit points or pause your studies at any time and take them up again during one of seven yearly course intakes.

Flexible exit options

If plans change, and you can no longer commit to the full Master of Nursing Science, you could still be eligible to receive a postgraduate qualification.

Depending on the units you've completed, you could exit with a Graduate Certificate in Nursing Science (60 credit points) or a Graduate Diploma of Nursing Science (120 credit points).
