About this course

Studying this Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Studies program through Open Universities Australia will give you the skills and training to pursue a legal career in a variety of businesses and legal institutions.

You will develop an understanding of important legal issues as well as the institutions and foundations of the Australian legal system. You will gain an education and knowledge of the law and legal reasoning, torts, administrative law and employment and industrial relations law.

Study periods

Open Universities courses are offered in specific study intakes every year, known as Study Periods or Sessions. This means more flexibility as you can choose when to start studying. If you are studying undergraduate units you can start at the beginning of any of the four Study Periods each year, each lasting 13 weeks. Most postgraduate courses are offered in three Sessions per year, with each Session lasting 14 weeks. Exams are usually held in the week following the end of each Study Period or Session.

OUA has done away with traditional semesters to give you the flexibility you need. Find out more.
