Learn about what it takes to manage all aspects of a sports turf environment with a Diploma of Sports Turf Management (AHC51016).

You'll be equipped to deal with staff, machinery and irrigation systems; develop nutrient delivery programs; conduct trials; analyse results and undertake effective plant protection.

This occupation involves handling chemicals and machinery, so workplace health and safety measures are covered in this TAFE course to ensure that you and your staff are aware of best practice to keep the workplace safe.

  • Prerequisites


    To be eligible for this course, you must meet the following entry requirements:

    • You must have completed the Certificate III in Sports Turf Management
    • You must be able to provide evidence that you have completed Year 12, or you will be required to undertake an independent assessment test to ensure that your level of competence meets the Year 12 level
    • You must demonstrate basic computer skills

     Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be available for skills and knowledge obtained through previous study or other relevant experience.

All course fees at The Gordon are comprised of tuition, student amenities, and materials costs. Depending on your personal circumstances, you may fall into one of the following fee categories:

  • Standard – you meet the eligibility criteria for access to the government subsidised Victorian Training Guarantee (VTG).
  • Concession – you meet the VTG eligibility criteria AND hold a current healthcare or pension card.
  • Full-fee paying/Fee for Service (FFS) – you do not meet the VTG eligibility criteria
