About this course

The Bachelor of Agribusiness through the University of New England (UNE) gives students the business knowledge and skills needed to work in the food and agribusiness industries.

Delivered online or on campus, students will develop the problem-solving and communication skills needed to address real issues currently facing the agricultural industry. Specialise your skillset through a choice of four majors: finance, economics, marketing and management and rural science. There are also opportunities to undertake practical work experience and overseas study to expand your learning experience.

The demand for agribusiness professionals is growing. Study the Bachelor of Agribusiness to ensure you're in-demand and ready to take on a diverse range of employment opportunities, from the farm level through to multinational companies.

Honours program

This course allows you to undertake an optional Honours year for students who would like to extend the depth and breadth of their undergraduate studies. Completing Honours studies helps improve your problem-solving and research skills, and demonstrates a more wide-ranging understanding of your chosen discipline to prospective employers.

High-achieving students with a GPA that meets the eligibility criteria for this course may be able to complete an additional one-year degree program, and graduate with a Bachelor of Agribusiness with Honours.

Flexible exit options

If plans change, and you can no longer commit to the full Bachelor of Agribusiness, you could still be eligible to receive a qualification. Depending on the credit points you've completed, you could exit with a Diploma of Business.

    To be eligible for entry into this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

    • Have completed Australian senior secondary studies or overseas equivalent; OR
    • Hold an approved qualification from an Australian TAFE or Registered Training Organisation under the Articulation Program

    Assumed knowledge is any two units of English. Prior studies of mathematics are recommended for any student looking to undertake units in the economics, finance and quantitative areas.

    You may be eligible for advanced standing if your previous education and experience meet certain criteria.

Eligible students can apply for HECS-HELP to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees. Alternatively, you can pay annually for the units you select to study in that year.

The University of New England also offers a number of scholarships to successful applicants.


You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
